We’re happy to announce that Stan Schymanski will be one of our speakers. His talk has the title “How plants think ahead and act in the hidden”.
Plants use solar energy to produce the oxygen we breathe and turn the carbon dioxide we exhale into sugar we can eat. They are not like self-replicating machines, though, but constantly sense their environmental conditions and even think ahead. Here you will see live how a plant responds to elevated carbon dioxide and learn how this behaviour might affect climate and water resources.
Stan is an FNR-ATTRACT fellow at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, where together with his WAVE team, he investigates interactions between “WAter and VEgetation in a changing environment”.
