Today we are very happy to announce our next speaker Fabio Dalmonte. His talk will have the title: “How we can stop the plastic reaching our oceans”.
Ocean plastic pollution has become a worldwide recognized threat for nature and humans. Plastic has been identified as the issue to solve to prevent catastrophic consequences. However, is it plastic the real issue or is that we allow huge quantities of this material entering the environment where it is not supposed to be. Therefore, we should focus more in stopping the plastic reaching and polluting our oceans instead of demonizing this material.
He is an Engineer specialized in Waste management and Founder of SEADS-Sea Defense Solution, a start-up aiming at applying solutions for stopping plastic waste in rivers before they reach the oceans, and promoting waste-management good practices contributing to the shift to a circular economy.
